Changing territory -36 Hour- Wait
Hello everybody,
I was discussing this with my guildmates and they all said it was a pretty good idea and I should post it on GuRu, so here I am.
Some people have used up all or most of their territory changes, like I have.
I thought that a simple solution to this would be: When a person changes the territory of his account, make it take 36 hours before the territory is changed. Players may do this as often as they want.
*Note: once a change has been requested it can not be stopped.(you can turn it around in 72 hours anyway)
This way poeple can't change just because they don't have favor at the moment, with a 36 hour wait, you never know for sure if the other continent wil have favor once you get there.
This way people can change when most of their Guild members are in another territory etc.
Don't know what the bad things would be, gave it some though but could not think up of anything.
PS.
I used search and read the sticky, Could not find any posts with the same idea, I apoligise if there was alreayd a thread on this.
*edit: Ok, changed most to some for Knightsaber Sith

No idea what you're talking about most people having used up all their territory changes, I've never changed and don't know anyone that ever has. But if you really think it's that important.....

Some feedback on the idea would be appreciated, and that YOU dont know anyone does not mean nobody ever changed territory. All I know is that I did it alot when I was going with friends and we were changing guilds every so often.
and yes I think it's important, and thats why I was asking here, to find out what others think about it!

Settle down. I supported your idea. And just as me not knowing anyone that changed territories doesn't mean no one has(and I never said no one has), the fact that you and your buddies do it a lot doesn't mean MOST people have.

I play guild wars alot quite late aswell, and alot of the time, 3 people in each outpost and mission (town is a little different)
so I used to sometime go to american territory where there is more active players, this'll be good though, active game all the time lol.

Well how about this idea, in the GW store add an item called something
like the "Territory change pack", where you can purchase 5 more "changes",
I know, seems like a lame idea that would cause alot more problems, but
I know it would sell like hotcakes!!!!!!!

don't have a problem with this system, since all my friends are in europe anyway, but a great solution for people who need it.

I believe that the reason they limit territory switches is because it is a hassle for Anet to do, not soley because of favor.

I currently play on the American servers for convienience (Guild, friends, play hours etc) however it would be nice to swap back and forth to the Euro districts if I felt the need... I'm kinda scared to do so at the moment in case I get stuck.

Nope, not at all. Right now, server changing is completely automated. ANet simply wants favor to actually mean something and by causing it to result in different servers getting the ability to enter UW / FoW it does. IMO, part of the original plan was probably that, instead of people waiting around for their server to gain favor, they'd actually form up a group and goto halls and try to get favor themselves. Obviously, this isn't exactly how things worked out . I agree with the limit of server changes, but I also think the OP's idea is a very good one that takes the concern of server hoping into mind and is an incredibly good idea.

I've also been thinking about a 24 hour cooldown, the dwonside of that would be that people could ''predict'' which continent has favor the moment they leave(which is still the case with a 36 hour time, but less) but the 36 hour is more that when they leave it will be night or any other time that they can't be on. As in day/night (or something like this:P)

Choosing a territory should be a choice, not something you can change on a whim every few days. For the reasons why territory changing is allowed, you shouldn't need more than 5. You shouldn't need more than 2.
If you can change it as much as you want, then territory will mean nothing. Might as well put everyone in one big territory and forget about favour of the gods, since everyone will be switching around anyway.
I know you have said 36 hours to discourage people from changing just for favour, but as it currently is, they are discouraged by the fact that they have a finite number of changes. That is, there is a penalty for changing. Have it your way, and there is no penalty. Everyone would start changing. People like Highstorm above, there are thousands like him. Suddenly districts would mean nothing, because people are just changing every few days. I hope ANet won't do this.
Sorry that you joined a guild that isn't suitable for you, I suggest changing your guild, not the game. If you want to play with people from another district, go to international, it's what it's for.

How about unlimited territory changes, instantaneously, you just can't use the local economy for 36 hours. I believe that originally that's the reason why, black dye in US is different than black dye in Euro. Although I like your idea since it does limit favor changing, even though I think it's stupid to keep people out if they've beaten the game and are bored.
